I like your screen name.
“newfreep” of Centerrville
Ever since the oil embargo of the early 70’s who ever led our government has had to go running when the Saudis beckoned. I find it interesting that Bandar is no longer in residence and the Saudis are fighting tooth and nail to derail oil production in this country.
It wouldn’t do for their favorite lapdog to grow teeth.
You are an artist extraordinaire.
Thank you sir! I appreciate that!
“I too have lost faith in the political parties...”
It’s hard as hell to control the politicians in DC. It is possible, though, to control the politics in your neighborhood - the local village council, the county board and the schools.
Basic military strategy 101 tells us to first secure our base from where we operate. Start by electing a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff. The sheriff gives you legal and armed muscle to secure your base and challenge threats to your security.
Okay, I’m probably asking too much, but can you make smoke curling out of Obie’s ears to signify that his head is an empty vessel.
“Youre right about Gowdy, all talk.”
Really? Gowdy pushed a bill out of the judiciary committee that gave states the power to enforce federal immigration law. If the bonehead Boerner congress won’t bring that bill out of the committee for a floor vote, what else can Gowdy do?
There’s too many jackoffs jumping on Gowdy’s sh*t who don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.
“However, look at the phenomenon I call the “Trey Goudy Effect.” Sound and fury, essentially signifying nothing ....”
Time to take you to school, Kenny Bunk. Trey Gowdy passed a bill out of the judiciary committee that gave states the power to enforce federal immigration law. Guess what? Boehner refused to bring that committee bill onto the floor for a vote.
Now, go ahead and tell everyone on FR how that’s Gowdy’s fault.
Most excellent, good sir.
Thank you.
Gave states the power to enforce federal immigration law.
I take that to mean that in the absence of federal enforcement (which is the norm) the states would step in and do the job. Constitutionally, I believe that wish, admirable as it may be, is on very shaky legal ground and would not withstand a federal challenge. Cynical as I have become, I suspected that Trey knew his proposal would not pass muster and made it as a grand gesture.
I hope I am dead wrong! I surely will take another look at Trey with you. He's got a good pulpit now. He has certainly succeeded in separating his "brand" from the Republican Establishment, so let's see what gets done 2015-2016 to save the Republic. Frankly, so far all I see are missed opportunities and inopportune caving-in to the Admin.
This is perhaps one of the worst aspects of the MSM/Federal Government partnership. We focus on Washington, D.C. and national-office elections. In the meantime otherwise solid citizens cannot name their county commissioners, or school board members!
Having been elected as a selectman and JP, and having lost several schoolboard elections for which turnout averaged UNDER 20% of registered voters, I feel the pain.
“so let’s see what gets done 2015-2016 to save the Republic. Frankly, so far all I see are missed opportunities and inopportune caving-in to the Admin.”
Cool. Are you joining us or embracing president Buckwheat? My best guess is that you’d prefer to stomp marxist balls into the concrete.
If you weren't such an old-fashioned, gender-normative, hegemonic, imperialist, euro-centric, colonialist, patriarchal, racist dog, you would soon come to realize that our country can only reach the heights of Gaia-conscious diverse comradeship under the wise, just, and permanent stewardship of a gay man from Africa. Allah the All-Wise has provided just such a Maximum Leader for our nation (just another member of a family of nations) when history demanded!
stomp marxist balls into the concrete.... Your violent thought process is enough to make Boehner weep! It also makes me so angry that I must leave my keyboard, fill Arizona Ice Tea Cans with gasoline, and use them to torch my neighborhood, white-owned liquor store! No Justice ...No Liquor! ¡Si, se puede!
Now as to whom I shall support. Beats me. So far the opposition to Obama seems entirely personality, name recognition, and sound-bite driven. I have seen no Program articulated. No Plan of Action, and certainly no clear Leader of an organized effort to get the Republic back on its keel. I do think the place to start is on the local, county, and state level. The anti-Administration forces control both Houses (who so far have shown me shiite), and 30 State Governments, including governors and legislatures, who occasionally give a sign of life. The voters? Well, more than half of them voted for The Mombasa MF, do not know where their county seat or state capital is, cannot name the Congressman for their district, and if you're lucky, can tell you the name of their county sheriff.
People get the government they deserve. And beyond telling people how bad Obama is, our team has not offered a positive alternative ... yet.
This has to be the most drunken, incoherent, crazy rant I’ve read in some time.
Guilty! (To any two out of the three on any given Valentine's Day)
