All of these recent mall brawl stories, they are enough to make you avoid malls which attract significant numbers of minority people.

Just as we all avoid certain bad neighborhoods in our cities, we are at a point where we should avoid certain malls which have become magnets for trouble.

Or I should say, magnets for the types of people most likely to cause trouble.

Very good point. Another reason to shop online, where you often get more information than the distracted, could-care-less store clerk (if you can find one) can provide.

About the only way to get someone's attention at a retail outlet is to trigger the alarm that sounds if you walk out without paying.
