The views of ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are nothing more than Russian propaganda?
‘Ethnic’ Russians were placed there by Russia under soviet rule, and ethnic Ukrainians were cleansed and moved out of the area.
Having said that, yes, people in Eastern Ukraine want nothing to do with Russia.
The war is not an ‘ethnic Russian uprising’, it’s Russia sending in military, soldiers and weapons. There is nothing ‘insurgent’ about it.
It’s an attack on a sovereign nation.
So yes, it’s propaganda.
Most reliable sources indicate that ethnic Russians are not too eager to be forced to join Russia. Very little evidence of native Ukrainians of any kind fighting with the "rebels".
The views of ethnic Russians not in step with the Kremlin typicaly leads them to being hung up by their arms with chains in some basement, or else stuffed into a box and buried alive somewhere. The idea of a 'ethnic Russian view', as if this is a legitimate civil war, is laughable.
Ethnic Russian over there have been used as a tool by Kremlin just like ethnic Germans in pre-WW2 Czechoslovakia and Poland... In the end they pay terrible price for imperial bullshiting of their fuhrers. Russians in Donbas will end up in ruined Transnistria-style mafia state with armed gangs robbing and raping them, any valuable assets will be taken over by Moscow oligarchs. Here's your 3rd Rome. Filth, death and destruction.
The views of ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are clear. They want nothing to do with the uprising.
“The Russian armed forces colonel commanding eastern Ukraines secessionist militias cant recruit enough local men as fighters, and that doesnt make him happy. Igor Girkin has been away from his family and his apartment in Moscow for months now, leading a small force of volunteers fighting first in Crimea and now in Donetsk province, he says, to liberate his fellow Russians from the Nazi threat posed by Ukraines government. But to his surprise and disgust, he says in a video posted May 17, his fellow ethnic Russians in Donetsk are not rising up to join him in returning the region to its rightful place under Russian rule.”
