Starting in 2016, the Transportation Security Administration will require all airline passengers to present a REAL ID compliant identification card or a passport in order to board a flight. The Department of Homeland Security estimates that 20-30% of Americans live in jurisdictions that are not REAL ID compliant, meaning their driver's licenses will no longer be accepted during security checks at the airport.

A Voter ID Card with a photo is illegal in my state.
I got a passport when work required me to fly to Canada. While it may allow some amount of govt control over me, I don’t find it terribly encumbering.
Combine a National ID requirement with this new legislation introduced by Rep. John Katko - tyranny is alive.

TSA to Arrest Anyone Charged with any Crime trying to Come or Leave including taxes
Katkos bill will direct the TSA Office of Inspection Accountability Act (H.R. 719), requiring TSA to now conduct criminal Investigators spending at least 50% of their timeinvestigating, apprehending, or detaining individuals suspected of committing a crime. This bill will now result in the arrest of anyone for any alleged crime whatsoever and that will apply to taxes. Katko is constructing a highly dangerous version of the Berlin Wall around all American citizens.

We used to go take our vision test, get a photo taken, pay the fee, and viola, within 5 minutes your new license was ready.
Last time I went in, everything happened except for the 'new license' part. That's because all new driver's licenses in our state have to go to the State Capitol where the local DHS branch is so they can make your NEW LICENSE. You get it in the mail after about 2 weeks.
One can only imagine what kind of 'chips' have been put in those cards.

But you don’t need anything to vote.
I try to avoid darkened cities and states.
Haven’t flown since November 2001.
Loving it.
The State Dpartment will probably issue Obama a valid but bogus citizen's ID and passport before he leaves office.
Of course, getting you to show such an ID to VOTE is racist and wrong.
But not to vote...
We do? I mean, Colorado does? I don’t seem to have one.
REAL ID to Launch in 2016: TSA Will Force Airline Passengers to Show National ID Before Flying Except on TransAsia Airlines, Asiana airlines and Malaysian Airlines. On these airlines, you have to show proof of life and accident insurance coverage.
For the purpose of making sure that known or potential terrorists do not board and hijack our airliners with near impunity as they did on 9/11. That sounds like a worthy purpose to me.

First ones to get them? Illegal aliens.
Wetback? Hell, they stopped swimming six years ago. They just walk across, purposely get caught, transported to detention briefly till they are given a date to appear...then cut loose.
