Hatch's Backstabbing Plan to Capitulate on Obama's Amnesty
conservativereview.com ^ | 2/10/15 | Daniel Horowitz

After Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) won the Republican primary in June 2012, he declared that his last term would be his most productive and that he was “ready to bite the bullet.” While some of his constituents might have taken that to mean he would fight for conservatives with renewed vigor, Hatch had a different set of ideas. What Hatch really meant by biting the bullet in his final term was that he would rubber stamp Obama’s illegal and dangerous amnesty agenda while undermining conservatives who fight it – sort of like Obama telling Vladimir Putin he would have “more flexibility” in his final term.

Much like his conservative colleagues in the Senate, Hatch is aware of the fact that Republicans have two leverage points against an imperial presidency: blocking nominees and wielding the power of the purse. He immediately foiled the effort to block Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s nomination by announcing his support for her in committee and on the Senate floor, all but assuring her confirmation. Now he is setting out to destroy the effort to block funding for amnesty.

According to Senate sources, Hatch is now using the sleazy tactic of baiting conservative members into abandoning the House defund bill by pressuring them to instead move onto an unrelated bill that is difficult to oppose, legislation protecting victims of child pornography [S. 295, Amy and Vicky Child Pornography Victim Restitution Improvement Act of 2015].

Hatch knows that as long as conservatives block a unanimous consent agreement to abandon the House immigration bill, his self-assured path to defeat is blocked. To that end, since the birth of this new plan to pivot from the real issue at hand, Hatch has been running to K Street,

I had a dream here in Texas that Ted Cruz would run against John Cornyn in the primary. Cruz would have won resoundingly as he is much more respected, then the conservative governor Abbott would have selected a solid conservative to take Cruz’s seat, followed by a Cruz-supported Senator in the special election.

Would have been great for Utah to adopt this plan with Hatch getting primaried by Lee the same way. Only thing: is Lee capable of taking out Hatch?

Another member of our Congress who makes the gerontocracy of the now defunct Cold war Soviet Politburo look like a bunch of young turks.

Orrin Hatch is part of a political culture that has run the country into the ground on their watch.

Sen Hatch has calculated that he can kick the can down the road until 2018 when he will retire just shy of 90 years of age.

After that, he really could care less. It's not like he is ever going to have to live in the screwed up world he has helped create.

What he really meant was that he'd bite the pillow.

The fact that Utah has kept the RINO Hatch in the Senate for way too long speaks to question just how Godly those in Utah claim to be. Hatch has no honor and apparently neither does the majority of voters in Utah.

No, his Mormon Church is right there with their “Catholic Bretheren” working to bring Mexicans into this country. With both of them, it’s all about “building their memberships” at the expense of the American Taxpayer and it’s a disgrace.

Drunk Teddy was his best friend, that speaks volumes about his character.
This latest example of his betrayal of conservatives is just more proof of what kind of weasel he really is.
When we figured out what a weasel Cantor was, we dumped him. Utah, what is your excuse?

All about the money. America doesn’t matter a bit.

“All about the money. America doesn’t matter a bit.”

Ding ding, ding, we have a winner! The “god business” is just like everything in this country today, the government is somehow “obligated” to help them financially because “what they are doing is a good thing.” Kinda like sports franchises getting the taxpayers to “buy” them new stadiums.

Correct, but we also get the added bonus of crime.

Well, you get crime with sports stadiums too. Remember the SF fan who was beaten nearly to death by some pissed of guy from LA after a game a couple of years ago? Booze and morons at sports stadiums create the environment for fights.
