Hell, I was there when Ft. McHenry got pounded. Never bragged about it. But I did help Scotty Key write the part about “...and the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air...” He was stuttering and at a loss for words.

I remember defending little round top. The rebs almost got us. I was out of ammo and had the blood of at least ten reb’s on my bayonet. We did it, though. Lincoln personally thanked me, btw.
