I was in Vietnam, 67 68, when I returned home the Country had changed, so had the music. All but my dear wife, we had been married 3 years, when I was drafted ,we packed up moved to the foothills, and only return to Bay Area when we have to.
To me it has also been very obvious that the fulcrum of the massive social changes we see now was the years 1966-1968. That was when the happy music of the early-mid sixties was replaced by the darker music of the Doors, Jefferson Airplane, late Stones, and late Beatles. The “Summer of Love” was actually a summer of tawdry sex, and radical Left-wing politics jumped front-and-center into the youth culture.
