Just today leaving the office, I walked past a kid that was probably 12 years-old and he was twirling around what was obviously a toy gun, because it had a orange plastic band on the end of the barrel. I told the kid, “hey, be really careful... you don’t want to get shot by a cop!”.
The kid immediately threw the gun down on a snowbank, being kinda a wiseass about it.

Well, it may have been a fake gun, but the robber was also wrestling with him, and the intended victim was pushed over backward. So I think he had a right to defend himself even if the robber hadn’t had a fake gun. The average young man can beat the average 67 year old man to death with just his fists. Deadly force is justified.
