florida did this with the addition that any municipal official who did not repeal such pre-empted laws was criminally liable.

" AH yes, that “diabolical” Bill of Rights."

Isn't that what King George III said right before he went stark raving mad?

And that’s the way it should be. PA’s old law, as described by Slate, was insane. You could only overturn clearly illegal statutes, one by one, with an individual lawsuit by someone with standing. All at great effort and expense by the citizen, and no repercussions to the fascist officials.

How hard is this for Slate to understand? These municipalities are violating a 40 year old state law that specifically says that only the state can regulate firearms. They are in open defiance. Since the court won’t rule on this until someone actually goes to court and is convicted, this is the only remedy the state has. In the meantime, these municipalities are free to harrass the good citizens and put them through the ringer financially. All so citizens can simply exercise their god given right. I wonder how Slate would feel if these local municipalities started regulating first amendment or fourth amendment rights?

Heard a blurb on the cbs-affiliated radio in Philly about a would-be robber who was killed by his intended victim: The robber had a plastic gun, the victim had a real one.

I'm okay with this. Criminals who rob innocents are doing long-term damage even if the weapon is not real. The threat is real, and a permanent solution to so serious a problem is a good thing.

It would be nice if the next conservative president had the DOJ conduct civil rights investigations into each and every one of those municipalities with some jail time to emphasize the point.

How about each municipality pass its own laws about abortion?? Would the liberals still be for local rule?
