Jordan confirmed on Wednesday that The Jordanian King Abdullah II will participate personally on Thursday in conducting air strikes against the shelters of the terrorist ISIL organization to revenge the execution of the Jordanian pilot Maath al-Kassasba by the ISIL.
Media outlets reported the King Abdullah II as saying The war against ISIL will not end and we will fight them in their shelters.
Isn’t he a direct descendent of Mohamed too? Or somebody really big in their faith. Who of the faithful would take up arms against him?
Well, he did ride a bicycle in a photo-op once? Doesn't that count? I will admit, however, he IS a pathetic creature!
His mother is a Brit-—converted years ago.
Very attractive.
The King road a Road King.
I think King Abdullah -is- a descendant of mo hammed...
a lot of the heads of state/monarchs go back & make the connections...
Good question about who’s gonna attack...
The ISIS guys are gonna have a huge can of whup-@$$ opened on em...
Very accomplished. Sounds like she has had a big influence on her son

We all have mentioned how we’d like the moderate Muslim to step forward. Unlike the Catholics who have the pope they don’t have one leader. Unless He steps forward and becomes that leader. As awesome calling if so!
Abdullah’s mom is English (Antoinette Avril Gardiner, presumably from Norman French ancestors way back). That’s partly his Norman (i.e. French Viking) pugnacity asserting itself. Muhammad, his long dead ancestor, was no slouch at war, either.

You can see her entire face and hair and she is not hefty-ized...
A number of Arabs are using the name Daesh rather than ISIL, as it has a really insulting connotation. Also, generalized rage at Daesh, Boko Haram, and others is really building up in the region, along with action. See this link and comments and then click some of the other links displayed there:

The rage in Islamic countries is particularly strong about the burning to death as it means there is no body to go to paradise. In other words, death forever.
...And join the King in his crusade....
Gross over-simplification to follow, but here's the gist: Shiites believe that Muhammad's blood kin should take precedence over his generals in the line of succession for the empire he put together whereas Sunnis believe that the Will of Allah should determine who's next, meaning succession would be determined more or less like in the Roman Empire, via a clash of arms, with Allah, in his infinite wisdom, playing referee. So no, Sunnis have no special reverence for Muhammad's descendants (Hashemites), at least with reference to their right to rule. That is why there are only two Hashemite monarchs in the Muslim world - Jordan's and Morocco's. And both are relatively moderate, religion-wise, since the monarchs presumably feel no need to out-Muslim their common ancestor, Muhammad.
Abdullah “Leader of the free World”.
Thanks for the explanation. Would be therefore have an automatic following from at least part of the ME world?
Would the other half hold any reverence for him at all?
Shiites are 10% of the Muslim world, and they've hived off towards cleric rule, with no link to any of Muhammad's descendants, at least religiously-speaking. Re leadership positions, they like the original Hashemite, Muhammad's grandson, whose death in the succession battle was at the root of the schism, but nobody after that. As for the rest, close to 90% are Sunnis, who are neutral or only mildly-positive towards Hashemites as leaders, perhaps because of the bloody religious schism that resulted from this succession battle. Maybe there's a taint of heterodoxy associated with them, from a Sunni standpoint.
Apart from the history and the numbers, most of this is sheer speculation on my part. But the fact is that few Muslims of any persuasion have been willing to defer to descendants of Muhammad in the contest for temporal power, even going back to Muhammad's grandson, who obviously was unable to to attract the support of the warriors necessary to prevail in his quest to succeed his grandfather. If he was unable to get that support from men who personally served under Muhammad, think about the difficulty re his descendants getting support 70+ generations down the road.
First Husband Michael LaVaughn Robinson knows too.
Obama, McCain and the pansy ass limp dicks in the State Department only understand 50 shades of losing.
Abdullahs father, King Hussein, was quite an accomplished fellow too, including piloting fighter planes and helicopters. See the “personal life” section on the Wikipedia page:

The story that Kissinger tells about the treetop level helicopter ride is pretty darn funny!
