Hypothetical....what's going to happen when Ebola or some other yucky disease spreads, and there's a new untested vaccine for it, with absolutely no clue what its long-term impact will be? Are we being conditioned to accept getting that vaccine perhaps by mandate for the good of those who can't or whatever?

Hypothetical: what if the vaccine for that were really a sterilization shot?
It would be a quick way to get virtually everyone in the country sterilized at once; would you put that past those who wish to establish one world governance?

Am I the only one who's totally turned off by being told to succumb to others thinking? I'd be much more likely to make an objective decision if I were given the facts, both pro and con, without bias, and asked to make an informed decision.

I like how CS Lewis put it:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”
― C.S. Lewis

There are so many vaccines now. One has to be informed and careful. I would NOT, despite the casual inquiry at the well check of my girls, ALLOW the Gardisil vaccination. My oldest while in nursing school had to get a slew of vaccs. I gave my girls my opinion on Gardisil (for a small percentage of cervical cancer HPV). That vaccine hasn’t been around long enough and there appears to be bad side effects.

I CHOSE NOT to vaccinate my kids with the CHICKEN POX vaccine when it first came out. I discussed this with my kid’s life-long pediatrician and I told him that I was aware of the RISKS of chicken pox after age 13 and IF, and only IF, my kids hadn’t gotten the disease by age 12, I would then get the vaccination. Well, when my oldest was 8 and my youngest 2, my four year-old got it first (from a birthday party), then my 8, 7 and 2 year-old got the pox. I had chicken pox as a kid. Itchy and icky for two weeks. The medical science of that vaccine is still “unsettled” as to the immunity one gets from the shot and how long it lasts. Five years was all they were saying back then. I suppose forever getting boosters.
