“Progressive mind was characteristically a journalistic mind” (quoting Richard Hofstadter) Modernly, called “Spin,” id est, propaganda. Among Progressives “Journalism” no longer exists (if ever it did). Instead, “Journalism” is used to put forth a narrative in the furtherance of an (Progressive) agenda. Hence, the decline of the accuracy and honesty of the reporting of the usual news reporting services, therefore the decline of their popularity, and the phenomenal growth of Fox News, OAN, talk shows such as Rush Limbaugh’s, blogs primarily concerned with political issues, such groups as the TEA Party, and forums such as this one (FR).
