We are closer to about 12% unemployment ( or 1 in 8 people in this country ), which is MORE THAN DOUBLE the official unemployment rate.

Do you really think it's that low?
I expect the real numbers to be closer to 20%… probably 35 to 40% if you count in underemployed / I-took-a-janitorial-job-when-I-have-an-Engineering-degree-so-I-could-eat sorts / I'm-a-PhD-in-this-field-working-a-entry-level-BS-job-because-the-company-can-get-away-with-dictating-my-salary sort of cases.
