She’s beating Krispy Kreme (sitting big state governor), Fiorina, Huckleberry (runner up in 2008), Sweater Vest (runner up in 2012), Rick Perry (was a big state governor a month ago) and the Donald.

She’s still not beating the best candidate Cruz and Walker.

In racing which takes place on a circular track there is the concept of the back-marker. The back marker is the last person on the lead lap. Behind that person are racers who are one or more laps back.

In the last couple races I suggested Ron Paul was an excellent back marker. Anyone behind him was essentially out of the race. We knew that Ron Paul was not going to win the nomination, but he had some real support. Anyone behind him really had nothing going on.

I'd say, as you have inferred, Palin is a good back-marker this time. She has mostly said she's not running, so if people who are running are behind her they need to reconsider what they are doing.

Reince Priebus already said there would be a cutoff or theshold for being inlcuded in the debates. Palin's 3.5% seems good.

If it were adopted we would not see: Trump, Santorum, Perry, Huckabee, Fiorina and Christie. Would anyone notice or care about these six (I'm dubbing them "The pathetic six").
