but what you want is never going to happen. It’s a legal impossibility, it’s a logistical impossibility, it’s a law enforcement impossibility - and most Americans do not want it..... you’re free to hold out for a delusion that is not possible if you want to.....
BTW, this is not a happy reality, but it is reality.
With all due respect, how is it any sort of impossibility to start deporting illegal aliens one by one?
I agree that it is an impossibility to deport them all at once.
You would pretty much need a mass teleport device, which does not exist.
But to start sending them home one by one is exactly what needs to be done, and it is exactly how it needs to be done.
And if that is an impossibility of any sort, America is done.
It's equally delusional that we'll never catch and incarcerate all criminals. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't do all within our legal power and within the scope of our resources to achieving this goal. Because we can't find/deport all doesn't mean that we can't make a big dent by deporting a lot of them, or that we can't have laws that make the lives of those who are here illegally so difficult that they will self-deport (one of Mitt Romney's few intelligent proposals back in 2012 - too bad it wasn't in the least bit sincere).
