85% or more of my neighbors are Hispanic and many speak little or no English, which tells me theyre recent arrivals. Not necessarily. Plenty of legals and illegals can't speak English, even after being here for decades.

Not necessarily. Plenty of legals and illegals can't speak English, even after being here for decades. Because they have no incentive or desire to assimilate, and the way the government panders to them they have no need to.

Not necessarily. Plenty of legals and illegals can't speak English, even after being here for decades.Only when talking about hispanics. Every Pole, German, Irish, Asian, etc I've known that have been here for more than five years speaks English. I know several hispanics that have been here for decades and I still can't understand them.

Can’t or won’t speak English? I used to work for a jobs program and you’d be surprised at how many could speak fluent English come Friday around noon when they’d start calling wanting their paychecks which they knew they couldn’t get until 5 pm.
