I agree with both of you. Walker is my choice among what is currently being offered.
My point, which your responses seem to support, is that the left may well latch onto this and attempt to make that-"he's a quitter"- the issue.

And it’s really hypocritical of liberals, who believe in all kinds of different life paths, to suddenly get all Grundyishly moralistic here. This is a good opportunity to show that no, conservatism isn’t some fashion and it doesn’t mean an infallible history either.
