How come IPads have no USB or SD slots?
If they included that kind of expandable memory, I would like them more.

I guess you’ll have to ask the ghost of Steve Jobs ... :-) ...

How come IPads have no USB or SD slots? They stick to their vision - data lives in the Cloud, not on the device. The tablet is simply a perfectly engineered Cloud access device.
No, I don't like it either - but Android is making moves in the same, NSA-friendly direction.

because that is Apples proprietary BS. Not offering a standard SD card in 2015 is a smack in the face to any semi knowledgeable person that knows the different between an SD card and a tic tac tac.

How come IPads have no USB or SD slots? In no particular order:
- Card readers take up space inside the device, something Apple is trying to minimize
- Card readers draw extra power, while Apple works very hard on finding ways to enhance battery life
- Not a large enough subset of users are demanding one for Apple to want to change their decisions
- Apple strongly encourages people to think "cloud" over physical memory
- Removable media is an additional vector for malware
Whether or not you agree with some or all of the above design decisions, those are the reasons from Apple's point of view.
