Apple-haters come in the “self-evident” category ...
Ummm ... “you” ... since you’re here ... LOL ...
That was my response, when someone asked me, “Why is Begin here?!” ... LOL ...
We’re never surprised when “Begin” shows up in the Apple threads ... :-) ...
From Apple to “martial arts”? ... it’s getting weird around here!
Actually, I have the real prices here, which might be a few bucks less for used or older models, which is right here:
Wireless Keyboard: $70 (Even more if you want the keypad with it)
Thunderbolt Display: $999
ViewSonic Display VA1921a (Alternate Option at a way cheaper price): $350
Wireless Mouse: Try $25 or $20
So yep, you still pay around the range of $1000 for the machine and all its’ parts.
That being said, it’s a wonderful specimen of a machine, and the price is worth it.
You’ve gone whacko now ... but ... that is a danger for those who engage in “Apple Derangement Syndrome”.
Try backing off slowly, or else there can be permanent brain damage! ... LOL ...
Just give a few years, they will be. The mobile devices on the upper end already play games from gaming consoles and PC approximately 7 years ago (Bioshock, Prince of Persia Trilogy). While slightly lower in quality, it’s a testament to how effectively computing power gets scaled down.

Uh-oh ... slow down! You’re backing off too fast! ... :-) ...
He really stressed making machines user-friendly, and easy to use. That’s the important part about business with computers and mobile phones, you must make something that people beyond the techno-geeks can figure out, and that’s what Steve Jobs figured out how to do, and excelled at. By this point, I would be willing to bet a lot of kids would wonder WTH a palm pilot is? Well, before we had the wonderful touch screen tablets like the Android and the iPad...
Oh ... I know where you’re coming from now ... you’re talking about that Toronto Blessing and “laughing in the spirit” ...
No problem ... but try a religion thread ... :-) ...
Apple TV is moderately priced, and sounds nice for having all the music and video in one library. Plus IIRC, doesn’t it also do netflix, Amazon, etc.?
