A huge part of the knock on Sarah Palin is due to her accent. Coming from a part of the country where people assume we are stupid because of how we sound, it’s ironic that I have to catch myself on this with Palin. She sounds like someone out of the movie Fargo. The test of this is to read her, as opposed to listening to her. It’s one of the reasons why the leftwing stories about her alleged stupidity always seem to fall flat. They report on what she said that was supposedly so stupid, we read it, and are left wondering what was so stupid. The other reason is that she is by no means stupid.

She ran and won mayor of her town after being a PTA leader. Then she was appointed for the Gas & oil commission (not sure of its exact name) and kicked ass, got a bunch of gas and oil contracts cancelled and rewritten as the oil companies, with blessings from the commission were ripping off the Alaskans. Then she went after all the corruption in the commission and got even a couple of R's kicked out of government.

Then she ran for Governor and won. When she was tapped for VP her favorable's were at 80%. SHE did all of this with support from men in her life but no man paved her way or lit a torch for her.

That is what I like the best about Sarah Palin, successful, accomplished with little help from a man, should be perfect in a woman's lib eyes, but she committed the cardinal sin, she kept her down syndrome baby, they hate her for that. She stood strong while everyone pummeled her and her family with lies and innuendo and half truths. They succeeded in destroying her political career, she will never get elected to be POTUS, I hope she just keeps getting in the control freaks faces and endorsing tea party candidates.

I agree; that is one of the things that Perot failed on, as well. Her nasal whine, endless repetition of catch phrases, swallowing of last syllables and confusing mispronunciation of vowels drives me crazy.

Unfortunately, Palin has apparently done nothing about it, whereas Mrs. Thatcher took voice coaching to lower her voice and practice other techniques to make her sound more authoritative and palatable to her audiences.

The people who sound the stupidest to me are in New York and New Jersey. Not all of them by any means but some of them definitely sound as if they should be going to see the Wizard to ask him for a brain. Strangely enough most of those who sound the worst seem to think they are the only people who don’t sound stupid.
