Did rivers in France/Germany freeze over? Seems that it would have been cold enough. Would have mde crossing them easier.
The rivers did not freeze. The Times reports today that Patton has soldiers fording the Our River because the weather is so bad and the terrain so rugged they can’t bring up bridging equipment. Even though it wasn’t frozen, I bet it was pretty darn cold.
