American Sniper is tops at the box office, but don't expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won't see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.

Ventura jumped on this because A. he was knocked on his behind by Kyle and B. Ventura wants to keep his face/name connected to the “Sniper” issue so he himself does not lose credibility.

Ventura served in the United States Navy from December 1, 1969, to September 10, 1975, during the Vietnam War era. He graduated in BUD/S class 58 in December 1970 and was part of Underwater Demolition Team 12.

The generals were right about that sort of thing to begin with (in the ‘50s and early ‘60s). Such vanity is a disgrace and a weakness. The buddy backstabbing is even seen in politics now. Disgusting.
