Launching verbal grenades is not a bad tactic at all, if the detonation of said grenades is in the right places.
A LOT of shibboleths (defined as: an old idea, opinion, or saying that is commonly believed and repeated but that may be seen as old-fashioned or untrue) need to be demolished, and what Sarah has been doing is targeting these old myths.
And fittingly, she draws a lot of fire from those who are deeply invested in these trite old beliefs, and while most of them just fume, sometimes, a spark is set off, and there is an epiphany, a new convert to the cause is born.
We are living to see these sparks occur repeatedly and ever more often.
Sarah Palin is doing what Rush Limbaugh has been doing for 25 years. She attacks liberal sacred cows in a provocative manner. There’s a place for that in the world. However that doesn’t make her qualified to become the next President.
