There are approximately 5 million companies in the U.S. consisting of 10 people or more according to DMDatabases. Of that 5 million, one company, precisely one, has adherents who feel compelled to share the firm's quarterly financial reports, sales figures, and latest product line, on Free Republic on a daily basis. One. Why?

Because they live vicariously through them, and think they, by extension, are superior people based on the money Apple makes. They feel like their purchase is validated by their profits.

It's bizarre because they go overboard with the bombastic hyperbole, which is the hallmark of Apple fanatics it seems. They are "good" and "smart for using that stuff, so you must be stupid and unproductive for using anything else, and they will swamp you with sales figures and financial data to make sure you believe it.

The biggest success story of an American company, and done consistently, year over year ... and you think that’s worth “nothing” in “tooting America’s horn” for free enterprise that has invaded the rest of the world?!
