Apple delivered the greatest earnings report in history on Tuesday.
That's not hyperbole. Apple earned $18 billion in net income over the three-month period of October to December 2014. That's more than any other company has ever earned over a three-month span.
Apple earned those mind-melting profits thanks mostly to the iPhone, which is an incredible business.
Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones, up 46% from the year prior. The iPhone generated $51 billion in revenue, giving each iPhone an average selling price of $687.

Apple-IBM partnership off to ‘impressive’ start
http://www.computerworld.com/article/2859480/apple-ibm-partnership-off-to-impressive-start.html
Apple and IBM last week kicked off their five-month-old partnership with an “impressive” 10-pack of focused mobile business apps catering to sectors ranging from financial to law enforcement.
The three that I’ve seen were pretty impressive,” said Van Baker, an analyst at Gartner. “They’re very complex, with some drawing from three, four or more separate data sources.”
Apple and IBM, partners from 1991 through 2005 — they had a falling out a decade ago when Apple switched its Macs to Intel processors — rejoined forces in July to meld Apple’s iPhone and iPad with IBM’s big data and analytics capabilities.
At the time, the two pledged to launch some apps this year from a list that would grow to around 100. Other pieces of the partnership put IBM in charge of selling iPhones, iPads and the apps to clients; providing on-site support to customers; and optimizing its cloud-based services for iOS.
Apple has also created enterprise support plans to accommodate the new customers.
Nope, but whatever it is they’re doing hasn’t done anything for me yet, and Apple’s disdain for enterprise IT goes way back.
Well, the consumer market is big and does generate HUGE PROFITS so that hasn’t been a problem. This IBM venture will just be the frosting on the cake ... :-) ...
Well then, as long as their making HUGE PROFITS it shouldn't matter what I or anyone else has to say, so what's the problem?
No it isn't but who cares?
I have been an Apple user for thirty years and I can't imagine how I could possibly use an Apple Watch.
However being a robotocised moron I guess I will have to buy one. Oh wait I don't have a phone anymore either, I use an iPad Mini instead, dang have to buy a phone too, or maybe I will just skip this until the experts figure out how I will be much better off with a Droid, Faster, Better, Cheaper.
There’s no problem with that as far as I’m concerned ... but then I’m not the one complaining about this thread and how successful Apple is with the consumers.
Look back on the thread and ask those who are complaining ... what their problem is ... :-) ...
I can't imagine a use for one either, but I am told on these threads that us robotocized morons must buy one, so.......
Just trying to live up to their expctations
I'll bet if I ask you to show me the complaint, it never happens.
That’s been the case with some consumers in the past ... in that they can’t see (ahead of time) how a technology or a product can really help them, any more than what they have already, today.
AND ... that has been the GENIUS of Apple (and Jobs, in the past) in that Apple has anticipated these things even before the majority of consumers have realized it. “Later” consumers begin to see, and then Apple is WILDLY SUCCESSFUL. What a deal!
Now, I don’t expect everyone to “see it” ahead of time. I say, to them, just sit back and see how it works out ... :-) ...
This thread is littered with those comments ... :-) ...
And yet you can't show me any of them. Curious.
As I said, the thread is littered with these kinds of comments, and you can see them just as easily as anyone else can ... I’ll give you one such post, and you can see if you can figure out the rest ... :-) ...
Post #3 is the “kickoff” and the games go from there ...
Where’s the part about them complaining about “how successful Apple is with the consumers”?
I care. If you don't want a reply, don't make the accusation. And yes, it's a lie and you really ought to be a little embarrassed by it.
However, since you insist on repeating it I'll give an expanded reply. I avoid these threads in most cases because (1) I use Apple devices myself and am more or less happy with them; (2) I am an Apple stockholder and am more or less happy with that; and (3) it's somebody else's party even if it's occasionally a silly one and I can scroll past it if I want, which 90%+ of the time, I do. So, not a "troll". In fact, people who post these things hoping to get an annoyed reply, and that is the case with this thread, are the trolls.
No, I'm commenting for a very specific reason, which I have attempted to be clear about. In my personal opinion for which only I am responsible, this has become abusive. FR gets not one penny from Apple and this is free daily advertisement. I am certain others' opinions differ and I respect that, but I'm not obligated to shut up about it when I feel it's hurting the forum. That's my say, I'm done. Have a very nice day.
Tim Cook walked into the breakfast place I was eating at yesterday (only 1 other person there), and noticed me looking at my iPhone 6.
I looked at him (because he was looking over at me) and did not say word. After I was done eating. I got up to get another cup coffee on my way out. I could hear him talking to some other business guy. Anyhow, Tim then gets up walks over to where I am at about a foot from me at the coffee stand and does not say a word.
I guess he was wondering if I recognized him? I said nothing to him and just walked out.
I must say it was a surreal moment.

... is the complaint ... doncha know.
Maybe he was praying to God that you did not recognize him and praying fervently that you wouldn’t say a word to him ... LOL ...
If that was the case, a higher power did intervene and keep you from saying anything ... :-) ...
LOL!
Yeah maybe?
That’s not a complaint about that company, that a complaint about the propaganda.
