I'm not nostalgic for the Latin Mass - I attend it every Sunday at St. Agnes in NYC. I do know that during the medieval period of Catholicism, not every Mass offered Communion. I've never heard of people encouraged not to take it. My trouble today with the Eucharist, is the number of people who are receiving it who are not in the state of Grace. I refuse to take Communion when not having been to Confession. I once turned to a pal while watching the sneakers and shorts crowd dashing for the Host and said “We're the only decent people here!”

Pride is also a sin, is it not?
