It was never around when I grew up either. I am ten years your junior, and the women I am talking about are in their 50s and 60s and I think they think they sound cool. It’s rather pathetic. Only one of them is a close friend. I was surprised to hear it from her - it started when she took a job high up in the education system. Ha - figures.
I was around some people and remembered I had forgotten to do something. My remark was, “doggone it, I forgot to get my medicine.” A man told me that was so 80’s and why didn’t I join this century. Really?
