Went out to a national/regional view, and because this map dealt just with rain/ice/snow, it was obvious in the early evening that New York City was going to miss the bulk of the snow.

Yes, at around 6pm last night looking at the maps and water vapor images, one could see the low jog a bit east.

Right then and there the forecast should have changed for NYC.

What was sort of hysterical was that Shep came on to do his crisis central role at Fox. All of his contacts were standing around outside in NYC, and all were probably able to catch each an every snowflake in their vicinity....there were so few.

And then for whatever reason I woke up twice last night and continued to check on it, and Fox was running Shep’s 10 pm’ish broadcast over and over. All hype, danger, curfews, blathering mayors, etc., etc..

Fox would have gained a lot of credibility saying the obvious, that the NYC Blizzard of the Night was a bust.
