Mrs Obama also donned a sheer black veil when she met the Catholic Pope in Vatican City.

Even Nancy Pelosi wore a head scarf a few years ago when she visited Bashar al-Assad of Syria, and that was for a mere meeting not a formal occasion, and she had probably just spent her usual hundreds a dollars to get her hair done before the trip.
Yet here we have Michelle Obama, whose reason for joining her husband in Saudi Arabia was to pay her respects on the death of a Saudi King, showing flagrant DISrespect to her hosts, the royal family, by not covering her head in their presence at all.
All the editors of ‘’Charlie Hebdo’’ did was show a few cartoons of Mohammed and Muslims erupted in murderous anger, so imagine how Muslims are responding to Michelle’s bare-headed insult to a major Muslim potentate.
Who cares...we need Saudi Arabia like we need another jackass like Obama...
Shoot, if they could rid Bush of that condescending smirk he had, surely they could help her.
I keep watching Obama’s actions. I think he likes to send symbolic messages. This shows that he gives more deference to Shia than Sunni. There’s no way she forgot to wear a veil, it was done on purpose.
Sending the Treasury Secretary to Israel is a subtle dig too if you think about it. Sending the top money person in the US to the Jews is a veiled insult and reference to antisemetic views about Jews and money.
I don’t think she knew they would blur her face on TV.
As for ‘good for her’, the Bible says do not repay evil with evil....as a representative of our country she should respect customs. And that does not mean we agree with it. However it is their laws. We expect people to obey our laws here, when they visit.
‘Catch more flies with honey than vinegar’....that is why they call it ‘diplomacy’.
