Most states that require the shot for schoolkids require it by the start of school or shortly thereafter.

They usually don't make the flu shot widely available until early October. Given that many schools start in August, I would think getting the flu shot prior to school starting would be a challenge.

That’s surprising. The Walgreens around here start their push in September.
