Duke is a private university, UCLA is public, so I doubt there could be any sort of church on the UCLA campus.

I know there is a Lutheran Chapel and a Catholic Center either on campus or right across the street from it. And there are any number of religious student groups that meet. The article says the Muslim call was heard on campus. Did it originate from somewhere on campus or from some building just off campus?

I don't know. In my day, several religious groups had facilities adjacent to the University of Washington campus, but I don't think any were actually on campus. But religious groups were allowed to set up tables in the student center, along with all the political, social, and environmental groups.
