Ok I will make it easy. I am asking your opinion:
I have answered this completely, you are just wanting your hand held.
Legalized pot no more undermines parental moral authority than legalized alcohol. In fact, I think legalizing the substance may give parents a bit more moral authority in discussing the use of intoxicating substances.
If anything, illegal anything makes a substance more tempting and more difficult to control.
Does making consumption of alcohol by people less than 21 years old make people less likely to drink?
You didn’t ask my opinion, but here is what happened with my two boys now in their 40’s. Husband had problems with alcohol, but always worked. I did not smoke or drink. Older son 18 years in military and special forces, married with children. Younger son, used pot and LSD, dropped out when father went off the wagon again. I asked a pot using friend with a small business to take him under his wing and teach him a skill. He is now happily married with kids, and good work ethic.
1) My husband’s alcohol use undermined moral authority.
2) Pot being illegal did not keep my son from using it. It also did not keep him from growing up and making a good life for himself.
