Republicans close to both Mr. Romney and Mr. Bush were notably tight-lipped about the long-planned meeting, which the two would-be candidates and their advisers were unhappy had been revealed publicly.

Mitt: "Okay, Jeb, they are on to me. I have zero chance. But I believe I can help you win."

Jeb: "How?"

Mitt: "I run far to your left. I am not trying to win, I'm just trying to give you credentials for looking more ... .hehehehehe... 'conservative'.... the idiots will eat it up."

Jeb: "Nice! You need anything in return?"

Mitt: "A Cabinet position would be pretty neat."

Jeb: "Done."

Interesting theory, but I just don’t see Mitt Romney conceding his ambition that he has literally been working on as a full-time job for the last 20 years.
