Renewable-fuels advocates are promising to spend millions putting ethanol back in the debate for Iowas first-in-the-nation caucus next year as cheap oil and setbacks in biofuels policy make the additive less central to voters.
Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, backed by state corn-grower and renewable-fuels associations and the Washington-based biofuels lobby Growth Energy, on Thursday formed Americas Renewable Future, to make the Renewable Fuels Standard an issue in the 2016 race. The Iowa caucus is set for early January.
We are designing it to look like a presidential campaign, but the RFS is our candidate, said Eric Branstad, the governors son and a group organizer. Were going to be talking to people and making the presidential candidates respond, he said on a conference call.

King Corn returns.
For my small engines like chain saws and stuff, I threw in the towel and started using “True Fuel” in them. No ethanol. Not cheap but in your case you could use it to run through at seasonal shutdown.
Engines run terrific with it. 92 octane.
I’m a big fan of farmers, but a real farmer does not need federal mandates to force people to buy and burn their crops. This law has got to go, and conservatives should stand up for killing it along with Obamacare and all other forms of crony capitalism.
I get aviation gas from the local airport. Not sure I would want any kerosene jet fuel in my snowmobile, though they do sell it there.
I pick up some every so often.
You could also try this stuff. It saved a generator for me after I had treated the fuel with Startron and it wouldn’t start after 6 months.
Available at any Home Defect store.

A lot of info on their website.
Corn is FOOD.
Ethanol:
A - Ruins engines,
B - Has ZERO effect on pollutants per mile, because it reduces gas mileage.
C - The reduced engine performance noted in “B”, demonstrates why “A” is true.
Using higher corn prices to buy more farm votes is disgusting.
thank you post 5.
right on Boomer One
You better make that Aviation Gasoline, if you want it to run through a spark ignited engine.
Also some "big box" stores now sell non-ethanol gasoline for small engines.

Ethanol is a huge boondoggle that enriches farmers and a few large companies and does nothing to reduce our dependence on oil, encourages farming practices that hurt the environment more than any benefit from renewable fuels and exists solely because of government subsidies from planting the corn to pumping the ethanol into your tank. It would be cheaper if the federal government just wrote subsidy checks directly to corn farmers.
Correct. I meant Aviation fuel. Not jet fuel.
Thanks, it says it is available at Home Depot and Tractor Supply.
There are not any gas station near my home that sell non-ethanol fuel. There are a few marinas and small airports, that are 30-40 miles away.
The only places that sell non ethanol fuel near me are a couple of the chainsaw, motorcycle, atv and snowmobile dealerships.
Thanks for the link!
I meant aviation fuel. Typically available at your local airport.
I’ve had good luck with it. Yes, I get it at Home Defect mostly.
The “True Fuel” is there too in 50:1, 40:1 and straight fuel versions.
Acetone based fuel.
The carb it saved was the float bowl type like the Tecumseh.
It was on a Generac generator. Granted it was only six months but it was more than worth the 5 bucks for the additive. I drained the tank and float bowl completely and put a heavy fuel mix of the MIC and regular gas.
They also make a storage additive called “Ethanol Shield”.
jet fuel is kerosene and not even a good grade of it.
You're a funny guy. How do you think the Ibn Saud clan ever got to dominate the oil industry to begin with...with OUR subsidies. That was great while we controlled them. Now they control us. National survival overrides economic doctrine.
