That’s the real danger, not that the Sauds start fighting each other, but that their enemies take advantage of this to try and oust them while they are in transition.

With the government in Yemen apparently falling today, and ISIS and Iran both jockeying to be the head of “militant Islam”, the Saudis are in a tricky spot.

Oh yeah, and they also recently pissed off the Russians by driving down oil prices. They’re allied with Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah, and also supply the majority of the arms to Egypt, who is Saudi Arabia’s primary military protector. So that probably doesn’t help.

Saudis don’t fight each other over the crown. There hasn’t been an assassination for control of the throne since before the creation of the nation.
