As was proven after this last election, when the Republican caucus had their chance to vote for new leadership, they failed. This likely condemns the US to having another Democrat as POTUS, as the current Republican leadership is determined to only permit one of two losers from getting the nomination: Bush or Romney, both of whom will lose to Hillary.
This means that it will likely take conservatives three more elections to cull enough of the Republican leadership to take over the party. And in that time, the leadership will not give Ted Cruz any power in the senate, they will not support him in the elections, and they will fight against any campaign he launches for POTUS.
And six years is a minimum. Even odds are that it will take longer than that.
However, if either Bush or Romney actually win, they could appoint Ted Cruz to the SCOTUS. They would do this simply to get him out of the senate, and the senate would likely oblige. But it would catapult him to a place of extraordinary power and influence in an assuredly conservative court.

If Perry decides not to run, and Rand Paul cant get KY law changed so he can be printed twice on one ballot, the field narrows drastically.Excellent observation, and basically a reverse of 2012. Love to see how a four way between Bush-Cristie-Romney-Cruz would pan out.
In that scenario, I'd guess Cruz goes into the convention with the lead, and the GOP(e) then steals it from him in second, third, or fourth ballot.

Like I said before, his Leadership and fidelity to conservative principle coupled with his intelligence puts him head and shoulder above every other potential POTUS candidate.
SCOTUS is beneath him.
Executive Leadership is what he is meant for.
All of your reasoning aside, this country will not survive another Democrat OR another Bush or Romney. Both will destroy the country from different directions.
Furthermore, I dare say that there were many in Reagan's run up to the Presidency that would have said the same type of things you are saying now, or even worse, it was impossible. He was down more 30% to Carter at one point during the General Election. Never try and convince people that the best or a good solution to a problem is impossible. All you will do is motivate them to make sure that solution is not only possible, but the only solution.
CRUZ or LOSE!

You’re forgetting the employer mandate... and tax season itself... The American people voted in Nov for Rs to Stop The Pain, and RomneyCare and Bush’s Act Of Love will not be forgotten.
And remember the Sarah Stump factor.

America needs this man in the White House. He IS what America voted for in 2014.
