Sounds like socialism to me.

That's just the thing; a lot of it could not be:

That's what middle-class economics is — the idea that this country does best when everyone gets their fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules. We don't just want everyone to share in America's success — we want everyone to contribute to our success.

Most conservatives would agree with the underlined in that:

1. The country does do best when everyone gets their fair (as in not-loaded) shot.
2. The country does do best when everyone does their fair share (as in portion).
3. The country does do best when everyone plays by the same set of rules (that is, Justice and uniformity of law).

None of those are socialistic in nature, and it could easily be argued that socialism is contrary to all of them by its very nature.
It's the conclusion that reeks of socialism.

The thing I find so WTF is the everyone plays by the same rules — this is so not-the-case that it's laughable. Consider the enforcer caste — the lowest government official in the American caste hierarchy, the police — they are accorded special privileges and [routinely] do things that would get the average citizen in trouble.

Yes - it's the conclusion, AND the mechanics involved in attaining those ideas:

*When everyone gets their fair share --- as in redistribution of wealth among EVERYONE, regardless of gross income, employment status or citizenship (or lack thereof).

*When everyone does their fair share --- as in supporting and contributing to the whole, not the individual.

*When everyone plays by the same set of rules --- AS IN THE CONSTITUTION? BUT... WE KNOW WHERE THAT HAS GONE, DON'T WE?

REVISED CONCLUSION: OBAMA IS ALL ABOUT TRANSFORMATION. AT ANY PRICE. He's deceptive. To a lot of people, his ideas sound great. Listen to how some of the Germans feel about that:
