"...the guy caught a beating that he actually deserved."Until the police or someone else releases photographic evidence of this guy fighting or attempting to fight the police, I don't see how giving some old codger a beatdown meets the definition of reasonable force in an apprehension.
What are your thoughts on the guy in Texas who was "beatdown" and tased by the cop a few weeks back? Did he "deserve" that beating because he was "resisting"?

I saw that. I believe that if a cop asks you a simple question about your expired insurance you may just want to answer it and not walk away and then flail your arms like a jack-ass. In short, stop fighting just because you know you're wrong.
However, it never should have escalated to that level. If the guy wants to walk away, go ahead. I'm gonna sit right here by your car and have it ticketed and towed. Good luck getting it back because you didn't want to have a 30 second conversation like civilized people.
