WILMINGTON, Del. A man arrested shortly after gunshots were fired near Vice President Joe Biden's Delaware home says police officers beat him up.
Fifty-seven-year-old Rock Peters of Hockessin says New Castle County Police officers left him with a swollen nose, rib injuries, cuts on his face and a black eye. Photos that Peters says he took of himself afterward show his face covered with blood and bruises.
Police declined to comment.

Funny, I don’t remember mentioning events from 40 years ago in my comment.
You must have failed English in high school, if you even got that far, because you have trouble arguing a point with facts. Instead, you resort to calling people who disagree with you names. Look up "scuffle" in the dictionary. It is a synonym for fighting.
The guy "fled" and "scuffled" (fought) with the police. If I did that I would deserve to suffer the consequences as well.
He already showed the police he wouldn't cooperate with their requests. What did he expect would happen to him? His actions brought trouble on to himself. A good scuffle gone bad for the suspect.
Hypothetical situations are just that. Request denied.
Yeah, especially when you don’t have any of those facts on your side. You made your “fix” up out of thin air. Your added comment was subjective.
Yes, I invented the blue wall of silence.
F**k off, jerk.
You got what you deserved.
Another Satisfied Customer!
You said Serpico IS garbage. Did he do something recently that makes you think he’s garbage?
If they do that's police brutality.
Again...I have no problem with cops doing their jobs, and if someone does what this guy did he has no expectation of kid glove treatment. But don't cross that line!
Whether the cops did this or he did it to himself to make himself into a victim, none of us know for sure but if he ran from the cops and fought with them, I still say he got what he deserved. There are consequences in the real world for your actions. I place the responsibility for what happened on him. But if this is police brutality, it won't be decided by us.
He gave an interview to Al Jazeera, for one. If you don’t have an issue with that then stop reading right now. He also said he would fire the cops who simply turned their backs on the mayor. The man has become a paranoid leftist radical who trashes the police at every turn in a vain attempt to remain relevant. Which he is not.
I understand, but sometimes folks just don’t know when to say when and simply comply with the request, even if it is wrong.
Like many have posited, living to fight another day [in court] is better than being killed over a minor infraction...like the shoot in NJ.
But that doesn't stop you from smearing any dissenters about the veracity of police reports now does it?
"Oh, and you're not too prejudiced in your opinion about the police now are you?"
Right out of the gate you accused me of prejudice...
If you were to compare and contrast my comments on police related news around FR lately, you just might arrive at the conclusion that I view each circumstance on its own merit.
I do believe an apology from you is in order.
An apology is not in order for speaking my mind and voicing my opinion on FR. Apparently, I am not the only one who believes that. Later.
There are lots of things I can’t stand about the guy. Lots of cops didn’t like him back then because he was strange. I believe he was a pot smoker who was arresting pot dealers. That’s about as corrupt as you can get. The other cops were arresting drug dealers then stealing the cash. Not much difference.
But when he says the cops have an “us vs them” attitude, I agree with him. And I believe there are lots of active duty cops who would like to say the same thing but can’t for the very reason Serpico said they didn’t back in the day. It’s called a thick blue wall. As far as I’m concerned, if you look the other way you’re just as guilty as the dirty cop.
