WILMINGTON, Del. A man arrested shortly after gunshots were fired near Vice President Joe Biden's Delaware home says police officers beat him up.
Fifty-seven-year-old Rock Peters of Hockessin says New Castle County Police officers left him with a swollen nose, rib injuries, cuts on his face and a black eye. Photos that Peters says he took of himself afterward show his face covered with blood and bruises.
Police declined to comment.

Cops need to police themselves, or in the end they will be policed ... and they won't like it.
He lives in Delaware. He’s probably a liberal anyway...
Dueling claims. A good scuffle gone bad for the suspect.
Who claims that he fled?
If the guy fled and "scuffled" (just another term for fighting) with the police, he was not cooperating for some reason. I repeat, he probably got what he deserved. Was it right? Probably not. But you venture into that territory of running from the police and fighting with them, you're going to run into some resistance. A good "scuffle" gone bad for the suspect.
In my almost 70 years, I have never been stopped by the police, much less arrested. That is not by luck but by design. I follow the law and wouldn't even think of fleeing from the police and fighting with them if they stopped me for some reason. If I did, I would get what I deserved.
That would be a great idea, would put the entire US government in jail. But, as I am intimately familiar with the hurt caused by the Nazi crush of central Europe a few years back, I just want to say you can take your “Sig Heil” and shove it right up your stupid ass. Your responses indicate to me that your opinions about the police are based on repeated contact with them, which usually indicates a criminal ideology or an emotional imbalance that causes one to go out of their way to antagonize them.
I am not going to engage with someone any further who already thinks the cops are the bad guys because they claim he fled. So have a great day Conspiracy guy.
I fixed that for you.
I'll give citizens the benefit of the doubt, not some government union goons.

Luckily, not everyone accepts that logic. If we did, then we'd have no oversight of our police forces...since anyone who questions them MUST be a criminal.
With a bare outline of what happened, reported by the AP of all people, its curious that so many folks on here can automatically know that its the citizen who is in the wrong.
I agree...he chose poorly. Running from the cops is a bad idea, regardless of complexion.
Unless that's not what happened?
Guess the old crackpot needs some cash.
Like I said, go soak in your conspiracy juices awhile longer. You're almost pickled.
Waving good-bye again.
See ya', wouldn't want to be ya'.
Your statement reveals that you are obviously not only not very objective about citizens but that you are also prejudiced against them. You don’t make a very reliable witness or observer, as a result.
Unless that's not what happened?
Feel free to read the article and thread.
I figured the shots were fired by some angry father or grandfather after Plugs hit on their daughter/granddaughter.
I’m with you! Cops can do no wrong. If a cop wants to remove your teeth, you deserved it! There is nothing a cop can do that you didn’t deserve! If they decide to shoot you, you were asking for it. These are not men, they are GODS, and like God Himself, never have failing judgement, anger, or ever act illegally. Say a cop wanted to rape your mom. She shouldn’t have dressed like that! B**** DESERVED IT!
Cops are perfect and never do anything wrong. We are on the same team, you and I.
