No worries ... “geek” that I am, I’m having a lot of fun watching this technology develop.
Actually, with bile in my mouth, I can see that it could be a nice commuter car technology. If you do 40 miles a day and don’t have much freezing weather, and that’s all. Might be cool. I drove a Prius rental once and was very surprised at the roominess and speed. But then after LOTS of driving, I was blown away at how little fuel I had used.
What I really don’t understand is why they don’t offer a hybrid. Maybe a -seriously- slanted towards the electric side hybrid.
I could accept a car that had a gasoline engine, or a very small TDi alternative that moved me along at 55 only or some such. Make it where it would have to be selected or only kicked in when battery state went below a certain level. And then it could, gasp,,charge itself!
But I just wont ever be able to bring myself to buy one that leaves me stranded, or unable to travel normally.
