I skimmed an article and I did not see where there any shots definitely shot AT his house.
There were reported shots fired in the reservoir area near his house.
My guess is was kids screwing around who did not even know it was where the VP lived.
Then they see tall, svelt Secret Service agent coming their way, looking pissed, so they rushed into their car, gunned the motor and skedaddled. I could imagine.
