The losing coach may very well be fired.

The winning coach is not fit to teach young people. I have been a coach at the high school level and have been on both sides of blowout wins and losses. You don’t run up the score if you are on the winning side, and you don’t quit if you are on the losing side. Those are the unwritten laws of athletic competition at the high school level and below. Honorable men and women who are worthy of leading teams abide by these concepts.

There must be a ton of “dishonorable” coaches then. I regularly see huge blow outs in high school sports scores.

Bottom line, sometimes there are huge disparities in talent between teams at the high school level. The snow ball effect also kicks in once one team get a big lead. It’s easy to second guess a coach when looking at a blow out, after the fact. Sometimes they just happen and no one is being dishonorable.
