This takes me back to my childhood and my teenage hobby of tuning in radio broadcasts from Cuba.
“This is Radio Havana Cuba, broadcasting from Cuba, free territory in America.”
The local stations would identify en Espanol as broadcasting from Cuba, “first free territory in America” (”primera territore libre en America”).

In Canada I could have visited Cuba for decades but never have and never will as things stand now. I am not a big person on heading south in the winter anyway but Cuba would be the last place I would choose as a warm climate destination.
