True. But significant damage was done during the rebel bombardment, as the picture showed. The fact that nobody was killed during the bombardment is due entirely to the strength of the fort and poor rebel marksmanship and not to any altruism on the part of Beauregard.

Nope, no agenda, I’m just not that invested in it. Go back and read my post #519, last paragraph. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.
I would add that my interest initially was to learn, and I have and will continue to. I’m getting a better understanding of the tariff issue, for example.
