Back when Congress passed the last omnibus spending package one of the major bones of contention was President Obama’s executive amnesty program. Handled by the Department of Homeland Security, it was a requirement for the GOP that funding for DHS would only run through February. This would allow them to craft a few spending bill for the department which cut the amnesty funding. Everyone knew this, including Nancy Pelosi, but now that it’s coming near time to get down to business she’s backpedaling.
Can you guess what recent tragedy she’s going to exploit for this?
On the steps of the Capitol, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and members of the Democratic caucus said the legislation was particularly dangerous in light of the recent attacks in Paris.
“You think it would have heightened the urgency to pass a homeland security bill, but Republicans still say ‘no’ to passing a clean bill unless they can be a menace to immigration,” Pelosi said.
However, the legislation has the potential to hurt both Democrats and Republicans, said John Hudak, a fellow at the Brookings Institution. He said if Republicans are viewed as playing politics and the DHS is not funded, there will be political consequences.
Well, there will certainly be political consequences for the GOP if they don’t defund the amnesty program. But beyond that, I’m not sure exactly how much push back there will be for Boehner and company outside of the Democrats in the House. (Just terrible to see them upset like that.) Pelosi should really be used to this by now.
Assuming this makes it through Congress intact and on to the President’s desk, I’m very much looking forward to what Josh Earnest will have to say about it at the briefing. If Obama has a bill in front of him which will fund DHS with the nearly insignificant (dollar wise) exception of amnesty, and he vetoes it, how does the White House spin that? Obama will be shutting down the entire department on his own. Who’s the obstructionist now?

Pelosi and the rest of democrats are doing everything they can to uphold and hide Obama’s dictatorial actions even though it undermines their own congressional power. The liberal media also hide Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty which is a high crime.

language matters. Apparently a “clean” bill is one that has no encumberances on every little thing the Democrats want, whether related to the subject at hand or not.
Now, me, I would think a “clean” bill was one that was succinct, clear, and dealt with one narrow aspect of legislation or funding.
What would a dirtbag know about a "clean bill"?
