We live in Gruberville.
There should be a standing list of politicians and media addresses for everyone to share. Anyone care to distribute or provide as a vanity on FR? Or perhaps host offsite and then provide link.that way, when the SHTF, we can go guard their homes from the evil white terrorists.
(Or they hope someone else will carry the ball.)
There are plently of competing forces/ideas to cause people to bury their heads in the sand.
The kernal I hope people find in this article is: get engaged in what your own future will be right now.
Good luck finding it.
that’s all I’m gonna say. :-)
Don’t know a thing about Kentucky sunshine, but if you got wind frequently, why not harness it too?
We have a natural well and are considering damming up one of the streams, or just cutting a pond out of one of the knobs.
Thing is, we couldn’t do that in Washington state. It’s not an issue here.
Also, “they” already know where I live, even without pictures. I’m only concerned about everybody else so the security is proportionate.
My place is so remote, we don't appear on Google maps or have cell service.
Of course, 'they' aren't deterred by little things like that, but I'm not worried about 'they' where I am.
(Like I said, it's remote!)
I rarely even mention my place on the dark side of the moon.
If you haven’t already done so, consider downloading and composing a technical library by printing it for storage (DIY information on technologies). Some links that might be helpful:

(very useful, no regular payments for service required for use)

Some recommended low tech. pursuits: residential construction, mechanics (start by repairing something, but study safety precautions first), thermal tech. (focus on heaters that use less wood, etc.), electrical work and electronics. There’s much more beyond that, when time allows (casting metals, machining, etc.).
And the movie, “Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil.” It’s a very entertaining movie (hugely funny, although it contains scenes of horrible injuries with special effects—not for kids), but it can also bestow a certain important kind of mental readiness for what may come (finding one’s real friends, in time: those who are really technically inclined in useful ways). Very much a necessity for those who are serious about getting by in much rougher economic times. If you’ve been well supported by the current establishment of recirculating debt, prepare to meet and respect some different and interesting people without unnecessary conflicts and losses.
BTW, I’m super-jealous that you can build a pond, as if you actually own your property or something.
Here’s one for you? If I had the money and so chose to, I could build a home on my property without a building permit or any inspections. :-D
Theoretically yes.
I'm going to test that theory come spring. The previous owners tilled the large garden last spring but failed to plant.
There is a dedicated well just for the garden too. I could expand the garden substantially after that, assuming I can get a decent base going.
As far as nosy bureacrats go, we now live in one of the poorest counties in the state (on purpose) who don't have the budget to spy on us. We are on our own (yeah!) as far as self-protection and fire.
The Post Office doesn't deliver here, or UPS or anyone.
We are, however, only 30 minutes from Wal Mart and a hospital, but you have to have a vehicle with good ground clearance to get in/out.
Wrong... in a sane world sometimes we're the people served and sometimes we do the serving. In communists hellholes there is the division the article speaks of... but not in a free country. Some I serve - some serve me.
‘’Kinetic glue’’? There’s two words in direction contradiction in meaning. This guy must be some Millennial stoner to come up with that kind of verbiage.
