Very, very good! Jackie can wear the puppy out and teach her good manners.

We adopted two rescue dogs at the same time and it added a dimension to our lives we didn’t know we were missing. Strider, the older one, was able to calm down Aubrey, the younger one, and teach her the world was not such a scary place. Aubrey is totally devoted to her “big brother” and together they make us laugh a lot. I can’t help but think we’ll continue being a dual dog household for as long as possible.

Congratulations to you, Jackie and Blanca!

I’m not making this up though I might be mistaken about her intentions.

But I just put both rescue dog and puppy outside. For now the puppy thinks the deck is quite big enough for her while Jackie wants her to coome outside and run around the yard.

I know from experience, tell me I’m right, that when feeding multiple dogs each should have their own bowl, preferably apart.

So I did.

Jackie has been, as expected, growling and protecting her food. That little puppty is hungry, however.

So Blanca eats out of her bowl, gulps it all/down. Now I gave the puppy considerably less than I gave Jackie, but of course.

So the pup ate all of hers, on the deck where I put the bowls on opposite sides. Jackie left half of hers and went down the ramp for a jaunt around the yard.

This surprised me because Jackie, hey, she don’t miss too many meals.

While Jackie jogged around the yard Blanca went over and began eating what Jackie left. Jackie would glance over, as if checking that the puppy was eating what she left.

Hey, it could be my imagination. But I do think Jackie left half of her food for Blanca, yes I do.

They growl at each other, don’tmistake, but they play together quite well and I can’t quite get over my feeling that Jackie is quite a happy dog with a Blanca in her life.
