Good news: the freezer is working again. There is a breaker on the outlet it’s plugged into, and it had been flipped. I suspect boys.
Now it’s been defrosted and cleaned, and we know what was in there and have eaten some of it.
As a retired electrician I can tell you that if the outlet is a GFCI (ground-fault circuit interruptor), which I suspect, you may have future problems.
The on and off cycling of the freezer condenser motor sometimes will fool the GFCI that there is a ground-fault and it will trip, cutting power.
If the freezer is the only appliance served by the outlet, I would change the GFCI outlet to a standard duplex receptacle.
Yay, for the freezer!
Over the afternoon, I have been wanting some homemade potato soup but I have no ham and no bacon. *sigh*
I should get some and freeze it three slices to a package. Good idea, ‘Face! Why, thank you, ‘Face!
