One of my daughter’s “friends” used their student loan to buy a girlfriend a piece of jewelry. Not an engagement ring ( which would still be improper) but a valentine’s day gift.

He was soon out of school. No girlfriend. No jewel. No money.

Those fools are always around. While you sometimes loan money to fools, I would prefer to make that plan on my own, and not have the State do it for me.

“He was soon out of school. No girlfriend. No jewel. No money.”

Goes to show, what you get for free you do not value. And it does not enrich your life or your soul.

Rush had a caller on that was mad because she just finished community college and didn’t get it for free. He was amazingly gentle with her, considering her attitude. He turned it around to encourage her to stand on her own two feet and explained how working hard builds character, and that’s something that the government cannot give you.

It was a good lesson to hear, for anyone, in this day and age.
